The Ageless Jazz Band is a 501( c )(3) non-profit, volunteer-run group of experienced community musicians from the Ithaca, New York area who continue the band’s original mission of promoting live swing dance music.
The band includes a full compliment of saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a swinging rhythm section. We feature the standard repertoire from Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton and Sammy Nestico as well as more contemporary works from Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Thad Jones, Ellen Rowe and John LaBarbera. We can even throw in a bit of George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Rogers and Hammerstein! The music played by the Ageless Jazz Band is timeless and enjoyed by swing dancers and jazz lovers of all ages.
The band can be seen at community functions, clubs, charity events, outdoor festivals, private receptions, and swing dance parties throughout Tompkins and Cortland counties as well as the surrounding southern tier and central New York areas.
